INTRODUCTION:
Time is the scarcest resource, and unless it is managed nothing else can be managed:
Peter Drucker
Time management is not very difficult as a concept, but it’s surprisingly hard to do in practice. It requires the investment of a little time upfront to prioritise and organise yourself. But once done, you will find that with minor tweaks, your day, and indeed your week and month, fall into place in an orderly fashion, with time for everything you need to do.1
Time management is not a standalone skill. You cannot manage time but you probably already know that. You can only manage how you use your time and how you use your time should be driven by effective goal- setting.
The most fundamental of time management skills is the ability to use your time in a manner which serves your goals. When making decisions about what to focus your time on, you should always be cognisant of your goals and how each action is aimed at bringing you closer to achieving those goals.2
STATEMENT:
A study to assess the effectiveness of concept map teaching method on knowledge regarding self-esteem among nursing students at selected Nursing Colleges of Mysuru.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To assess the level of knowledge regarding self-esteem among nursing students.
2. To assess the effectiveness of concept map teaching on knowledge regarding self-esteem among nursing students.
3. To find the association between pretest level of knowledge regarding self-esteem among nursing students with their selected personal variable.
NEED FOR THE STUDY:
Time management may be aided by a range of skills, tools, and techniques used to manage time when accomplishing specific tasks, projects, and goals complying with a due date. Initially, time management referred to just business or work activities, but eventually the term broadened to include personal activities as well. A time management system is a designed combination of processes, tools, techniques, and methods. Time management is usually a necessity in any project development as it determines the project completion time and scope.3
Failing to manage your time effectively can have some very undesirable consequences: Missed deadlines, inefficient work flow, poor work quality, poor professional reputation and a stalled career and Higher stress levels.4
All of us have times of day that we work better. It’s best to schedule the difficult tasks for those times. However, you also need to schedule in things that need doing at particular times, like meetings, or a trip to the post office.Another useful option is to have a list of important but non-urgent small tasks that can be done in that odd ten minutes between meetings: might it be the ideal time to send that email confirming your holiday dates.5
HYPOTHESIS:
H1: There will be significant association between level of time management Skill with their selected personal variables among the Nursing students.
MATERIAL AND METHOD:
Research Approach:
Descriptive study design was used to assess the time management skills among BSc Nursing students in selected college at Mysuru with a view to conduct teaching programme.
Variables of Study:
Variable of the study was
· Time management skills

The study was conducted in JSS College of nursing, Mysuru.
Population:
In the present study, population comprises of BSc nursing students studying in selected college at Mysuru.
Sample and Sampling:
The sample of the present study comprises of BSc nursing students studying in selected college at Mysuru. Sixty (60) BSc nursing students (Third year) were selected.
Sampling technique:
Sampling technique used in this study was nonprobability convenient sampling technique.
RESULTS:

Majority 50% of the nursing students had inadequate knowledge and 41.7% were have average knowledge and 8.3% of them have good knowledge in pretest were as in the posttest 8.3% have inadequate knowledge, 25%were have average knowledge and66.7% have good knowledge. The data also revealed that the mean pre-test knowledge score is 12.5 with standard deviation of± 2.8 and ranged from 5-23 and the mean post-test knowledge score is 15.6 with standard deviation of ± 3.2 and ranged from 5-23.

3.Findings related to association of level time management skill of nursing students with their personal variables.
The result also shows that the time management nursing students had no significant association at 0.05 levels with their selected personal variables.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. A similar study can be conducted by adopting true experimental design.
2. A comparative study can be conducted on time management skills among nursing students and arts college students.
3. A similar survey may be replicated on a large sample for better generalization of research.
CONCLUSION:
The study concluded that time management is necessary for medical workers, especially nurses. Therefore, the study reinforces the need to organize teaching programs which sensitize the B.sc nursing students to enhance the knowledge regarding time management skills.
